My Husband K!cked Our Daughter Out at 18—A Year Later, She Returned With a Newborn and One Shocking Sentence.

“I told her to.”

My suitcase slipped from my hand and crashed onto the tile.

“YOU DID WHAT?”
Adrian finally looked at me.

“She’s eighteen.”

I gripped the counter because my knees suddenly felt weak.

“You threw my daughter out?”

“She’s an adult.”

“Where did she go?”

“How should I know?”

“You threw her out of our house and don’t know where she went?”

He took another bite.

“I got tired of her sitting around.”

“Sitting around?”

“Eating our food.”

“She lives here!”

“Living off my paycheck.”

“She’s finishing high school!”

Adrian rolled his eyes.

That did something to me.

I grabbed the plate from beneath his knife.

Then threw it against the wall.

Ceramic exploded across the floor.

Adrian barely moved.

“WHERE DID SHE GO?”

“I already told you.”

He wiped butter from his thumb.

“I don’t know.”

“She’s my daughter!”

His eyes finally met mine.

“And this is my house.”

His voice became cold.

“Remember that before you break anything else.”

I DIDN’T SLEEP
I sat on Sophie’s bed until sunrise.

Called her repeatedly.
