The worst thoughts started running through my head.
Why did he bring me there?
Why a hotel? Roommates and shared accommodations.
Why couldn’t he just tell me what he wanted?
I thought twice about packing my bags and leaving.
But then I remembered my father.
Richard never hurt me.
Maybe he really wanted to tell me something important. At 6:55 PM, I was outside room 214.
I raised my hand to knock, but then realized the door wasn’t completely closed.
“Uncle Richard?”
There was no answer.
I opened the door slightly.
And as soon as I entered, I stopped.
My heart started pounding.
The entire bed was covered in photographs. And almost every single one of them was me.
Me at the age of three.
Me in school uniform.
He was thirteen years old.
