## 14\. Mental Health Deserves Attention
Men sometimes receive the message that they should simply “tough it out” when they are struggling emotionally.

Persistent sadness, loss of interest, severe anxiety, social withdrawal, hopelessness, or other significant changes deserve attention.
Mental health is not separate from overall health.
Asking for help is not a failure.

A man may become more comfortable with who he is and less concerned with meeting other people’s expectations.
