A woman’s husband didn’t know she had regained her sight after two years of blindness – when she saw what he kept in their bedroom, she was speechless

“I wanted to surprise you when I finally get to see your face.”

His voice became uncertain.

“Can you see me now?”

I nodded.

“Your face is still blurry.”

He covered his mouth.

“But I see you’re crying.”

For a moment he just looked at me.

Then he started laughing through his tears.

“Sutton, I’ve been waiting for this for two years.”

He came up to me and put his arms around me.

We held hands for a long time.

When he finally pulled away, I gently touched his cheek.

“You have more wrinkles than I remembered.”

He laughed.

“Serious?”

“And I think your hair has gotten thinner.”

“Sutton, I missed your sense of humor, but I could have waited a little longer for this part.”

For the first time in months we laughed together.

Then his expression became serious.

“I would like you to read something else.”

He reached for the letter addressed to Rebecca.
