A woman’s husband didn’t know she had regained her sight after two years of blindness – when she saw what he kept in their bedroom, she was speechless

“I wrote this for my next therapy session.”

I hesitated, but I took it.

Using the zoom feature on my phone, I continued reading where I left off.

We described our arguments in the letter.

Ashton wrote about his exhaustion, his fear of losing his patience, and the guilt that followed him.

Then I came to the paragraph that brought tears to my eyes again.

I’ve considered leaving because I’m afraid my frustration will continue to hurt Sutton emotionally. But when I imagine a future without her, I feel no relief. I feel like I’m losing my closest friend.

I looked at him.

He was silent.

I continued

I don’t want to end my marriage. I want to stop treating my wife like someone I’m responsible for and start treating her like an equal partner.

My hands were shaking

The last paragraph was even more emotional.

Sutton deserves to feel loved and respected. I want to be the husband who helps her feel that way again.
