A woman’s husband didn’t know she had regained her sight after two years of blindness – when she saw what he kept in their bedroom, she was speechless

I left the letter.

“Why didn’t you tell me that?”

“Because I was afraid you would only remember the part about wanting to leave.”

I looked at the divorce papers.

“Well, I found that part anyway.”

He smiled sadly.”I know.”

I held out my hand to him.

“Ashton, I don’t expect you to pretend everything is fine when it’s not.”

“I have to stop believing that I can handle every problem on my own,” he replied.

We sat together in silence.

Then I said:

“We need to stop hiding important things from each other.”

He nodded.

“I agree.”

That evening we put aside the divorce papers.

Not because all our problems have disappeared.

And it’s not because my improving eyesight magically fixed our relationship.

But because for the first time in months we finally talked honestly about what happened between us.

In the following weeks, Ashton continued therapy.

I kept my doctor’s appointments.
