A woman’s mother-in-law kept licking her serving spoon and putting it back in her food – the day she did it again while she was sick, her son finally taught her a lesson she’ll never forget

“What can you change?”

He looked surprised.

“I work these hours too.”

“I know. That’s why we have to solve this together.”

He thought about it calmly.

“Okay. I’ll ask about the early shift.”

It wasn’t a complete solution, but I put the phone down instead of calling the manager right away.

Diane left, leaving breakfast untouched.

Once she was gone, I asked Mark if he wanted to include Noah in his demonstration.

“He helped me with the toast,” he said. “I did the rest. No one was going to eat it.”

“Please don’t drag him into revenge against your mother. He’s four years old.”

“I shouldn’t have.”

He carried the tray to the garbage can.

Watching him throw away food, I realized I needed more than just his support for kitchen hygiene. I needed to know if he would respect a decision he disagreed with.

That evening I visited the website of the kindergarten two streets away.
